  Self Exam for your Mind: Are you really "Free" from Watchtower mentality?

  imagine a knock at the door.who is there?it is an optometrist offering free eye exams!come in--come in.within months, you're wearing a new pair of specially prescribed glasses...and seeing things differently.____.

  jehovah's witnesses wear "those" glasses.we all wore them.the lenses colored what we saw and the feedback from the governing body "explained" why things didn't look the same.

  "only now--are you seeing the truth," they whisper.. _____.

  WOW Terry what thought provoking questions. You must be touching some raw nerves on those questions. As a born-in I often wonder if I will ever be free from the WT mentality. I have found myself slowly changing my thinking in many areas. But as always once in a while I do quack but not as often as before. I have come to terms I will fight this thinking all the way to the grave. The prison of mind control we were in is a very powerful force to reckon with. The only good thing is being aware of this problem helps me and hopefully others to be more free of Borg thinking. Quack Quack. Thank you for this post. Still Totally ADD

  because of this site i realized that there were many people who were active jehovah’s witnesses really didn’t believe in god at all.

  i’m curious how many people believe in god?

  i’m not interested in debating why you shouldn’t have a belief in a god or should.

  After watching the video I see the Borg is still nuts about masterbation. I remember back in 1971 at a DC they had a large afternoon part on this subject. They are no different than any other fundamentalist religion where they use sex to control people. Maybe there new slogan could be "By not using a pillow a day keeps the elders away" LOL.   this is my first post to this site, im pale.emperor's brother:).

  first of all, i've left being a jw in june.

  since then my family have tried to convince me it's "the truth" and force me to go back even though it's my own decision.

  my first thought when seeing this headline was; "how could trump be right?

  " even though i am registered as a republican, i don't really care for trump.

  after reading the article, i still don't care for trump, but i had never considered many of the points brought out by the article.. january 17, 2018. what i learned in the peace corps in africa: trump is right.

  pseudo very nice experience you gave on your peace corps days. But your conclusion is not what people of the left think at least the ones I know. We do not want open borders we want better enforcement of our borders not what we have now. Yes they don't want a wall because it's a ridiculously idea and Mexico will never pay for it. I am a white guy and I don't resent white people and again all those I know who are of the left are white and I have never heard them say they resent white people. Most of there ancestors came from one of those other white country's throughout the world. They don't hate American they hate those who are making America into a fascist country were only white people have rights. How in the hell does the left resent American achievement. They are the ones that cherish scientific achievement and for most love God and country.

  I agree we don't need to prove we are not racist but we do need to show we are not by are words and actions. Just like the jw cult that demonize everyone in the world I have found in the world of politics on both sides have a problem with demonizing the other party. I have found by talking and knowing people on both sides they are all decent people who want mostly peace and happiness. Kindness brings people together. Hatred divides. My two cents. Take care.   Thanks dubstepped for the information. That's me in a nut shell. Totally ADD. I think one way but it comes out of my mouth differently or here out of my typing. Lol. I have just learn to laugh at myself. I am better in the morning through early afternoon by mid afternoon my Ritalin has worn off. Good luck on your podcast hope to be listening to it on my computer.   Did your children help you wake up?

  what help me wake up, (still pimo) in addition to lingering doubts throughout most of my life, and i'm in my late 50s, was the questioning from my children when they became teenagers.

  i could not honestly defend the origins of the jws, prohibition of birthdays and other celebrations; especially when you realise that the whole belief system is/was based on crazy teachings of a businessman.. the real kicker is when you have a religion that has to produce its own bible to support its beliefs, that's when i knew the whole religion is an expensive and cleverly marketed belief system.

  like most religions.. glad to say none of my children want anything to do with jws and two of them don't believe in god.

  Hey Desirous I resemble that comment! Just kidding. No our children was no help in making us wakeup though our oldest son stop going to meetings for long time. He even told me he felt it was not the truth. But when we made it known we was leaving both of our boys was OK with it until their wives learned of it. That is when the shunning began. By both of them. The power of the cult is strong with those wives. Still Totally ADD

  i just thought i'd share this story from my past.. back in the 80s i remember the big problem seemed to be about music.

  (today, it's tight pants, i guess) the organization, society, whatever they were calling themselves, were always going on about the music we listened to.

  disco, heavy metal, the whole "backwards masking" thing...couldn't escape hearing or reading about how satan was corrupting us unless we were listening to kingdom melodies or elevator music.. i was assigned to wtf in the late 80s and remember one of the articles stating that "young people know that the rhythm of rock music is the rhythm of sexual intercourse.

Play the song backwards it says worship Satan. Maybe all of us who did listen to Rock n Roll back in our youth was influence by the devil and that made us leave the cult.   so... i am doing a crazy stat: how many pieces of paper has the wt ever published?.

  i don't have the answer yet, but.... i do have the approximate answer for the awake!

  and the watchtower magazines.... get ready... it's a whopping 1.1 trillion pages!.
